Vittoria, the Municipality joins "10, 100, 1000 squares for peace"
The city event is scheduled for March 28, starting from via Marcello Guglielmino.
Palazzo Iacono is the seat of the Municipality of Vittoria.
The Municipality of Vittoria joins the national mobilization "10, 100, 1000 Squares for Peace", the initiative that is involving cities, associations, and communities across the country in a collective appeal for peace.
The city participates with a symbolic and shared gesture: a work of "weaving" created together by schools, associations, informal groups, and individual citizens, representing the patient, daily, and collective commitment necessary to safeguard coexistence, dialogue, and mutual respect.
The city parade will start on Thursday, March 28, at 11 AM, from via Marcello Guglielmino.
The route will conclude along via Cavour, in piazza del Popolo, where a large "Carpet of Peace" will take shape, created by joining banners, cloths, and panels brought by the participants.
The work, stitched together from the contributions of each individual, will symbolize the weaving work of peace: a fabric of differences meeting, hands cooperating, and messages merging into a single collective voice.
The event is open to everyone.
"Peace is not an abstract concept, but a daily commitment that requires care, listening, and responsibility. With this collective gesture, we want to remind that every citizen, every school, every association can be a thread in a larger fabric. The carpet we will create together is the symbol of a community that chooses to weave bonds, not divisions, and to educate new generations in coexistence and mutual respect."
This was stated by the Councilor for Equal Opportunities, Public Education, and Social Policies, Francesca Corbino.
"Vittoria firmly supports this national mobilization, bringing to the square the face of a community that believes in peace and the power of shared gestures. The participation of schools, families, associations, and citizens demonstrates that our city knows how to unite around fundamental values. The Carpet of Peace will be the concrete sign of a commitment that concerns us all," concluded Mayor Francesco Aiello.
