The signing of the agreement
A twinning agreement has been signed in Bagheria between the local branch of Unitre and its counterpart in Modica.
During a cordial and well-attended institutional meeting, the two delegations — led respectively by the president of Bagheria, Giovanna Aiello, and the president of Modica, Enzo Cavallo — formalized their intention to initiate a stable collaboration, aimed at strengthening the role of Unitre and identifying and implementing joint initiatives for the benefit of the members of both organizations.
After the speeches by the presidents and representatives of the two branches, the ceremony was enhanced by a performance from the Unitre choir of Bagheria, directed by Emanuele Lo Coco, and the recitation of several poems by Roberto Ardizzone.
This was followed by the official speeches of Giovanna Aiello and Enzo Cavallo; the latter also conveyed greetings from the national president and the regional coordination.
Regarding the history of Unitre in the two centers, Giovanna D'Amico, the vice president, and Rita Di Pasquale, the course director, spoke for Bagheria; for Modica, the secretary and founding member Orazio Frasca took the floor.
In conclusion, guests were given the opportunity to view and appreciate various painting and sewing works created by the members of Unitre of Bagheria.
In light of the signed twinning agreement, a joint meeting of the two Board of Directors is expected to take place soon to initiate the first common initiatives.
