In Giarratana, last night, the vigil of the Feast of Saint Joseph transformed into a collective, intense, and moving embrace, filling the Mother Church with a special light.

A long, participatory, deeply felt celebration, led by Pastor Don Franco Ottone, who wanted to dedicate a central moment to fathers, recalling the figure of the saint as a model of silent love, daily dedication, and strength that does not need noise.

The moment of the blessing of the fathers was the beating heart of the evening: all the fathers, side by side, gathered around the altar, with their hands on their children's heads, and with their families symbolically entrusted to Saint Joseph. A simple and powerful gesture, capable of touching deep chords.

A different silence was felt, a silence that listens, that guards, that unites. At the end, a small gift given to each family sealed the meaning of the evening: care, closeness, gratitude for those who support, guide, and protect every day.

Another moment of great emotion was the ceremony of vesting the new altar servers.

The young boys, excited and proud, were welcomed with sincere enthusiasm by the entire community.

A sign of hope, continuity, and a future that grows within the Church. Every face told the joy of a new beginning, of a service that is not just liturgy, but belonging, responsibility, gift. Today the journey continues.

At 5:30 PM, the community will gather for the recitation of the Rosary, the chaplet, and the singing of the litanies of Saint Joseph, while at 6:30 PM the solemn Eucharistic celebration will be presided over by Don Roberto Asta, general vicar of the diocese.

Immediately after, finally, the procession through the streets of the town, postponed last Sunday due to bad weather, will bring the statue of the saint through the streets of the village, accompanied by the devotion of a people who have never stopped feeling him close. Upon return, Saint Joseph will be placed back in the chapel of the main altar, as if returning to his home, in the heart of the community that entrusts itself to him.

In Giarratana, the festival is not just tradition: it is a shared breath, a way to recognize each other, to find each other, to remember that faith, when lived together, becomes a strength that supports and a hope that illuminates.
