No longer just paperwork and documents, but excavators and construction sites. The Mosella road, the lifeline connecting SS 640 to SS 115, is set to change its appearance. After years of waiting and structural issues, the municipal administration is speeding up the process by ordering the early delivery of the works under legal reserve.

The crucial appointment is set for March 23, 2026: on that date, the Project Manager will officially kick off the construction site, overcoming the bureaucratic delays related to the finalization of the contract.

An investment for safety

The project is not a simple "makeover" of the asphalt, but a massive intervention of extraordinary maintenance worth over 4.5 million euros (funded with FSC funds). The action plan includes: the complete resurfacing of the asphalt; the replacement of expansion joints and the rehabilitation of reinforced concrete viaducts; the renewal of safety barriers and signage.

The goal is clear: to restore dignity and, above all, safety to one of the busiest and most strategic roads in the Agrigento area.

The timeline: 360 days to the finish line

The construction site will have a contractual duration of one year (360 days), by which time the work must be completed and cleared of equipment. However, for the final testing, it will take a total of 450 days, but the accessibility of the roadway will be the top priority to minimize disruptions to traffic.

The acceleration imposed by the political directive aims to ensure compliance with these deadlines, as highlighted with satisfaction by the municipal councilor for Public Works, Gerlando Principato: "We have ordered the early delivery of the works to safeguard traffic safety and adhere to the timeline. The Mosella finally moves from the administrative phase to the construction site; Agrigento continues to move forward with concrete actions."
