Inaugurated the space "The Journey of Andromeda": housing autonomy pathways for 12 people in the pink houses of Trapani
The financing of the project through the Pnrr funds and promoted by the Social and Health District 50
This morning, the space “The Journey of Andromeda” was inaugurated, pathways to independence for 12 adults with disabilities, at the Casette Rosa on via Giuseppe La Grutta 2 in the Municipality of Trapani, a place dedicated to social inclusion, which, after the digital training and internships initiated in local businesses, now enters the phase dedicated to housing autonomy. The project, promoted by the Social Health District 50, led by Marilena Cricchio, of which the Municipality of Trapani is the Lead Entity and also includes the municipalities of Erice, Paceco, Valderice, Custonaci, Buseto Palizzolo, San Vito Lo Capo, and Misiliscemi, is funded with 715,000 euros and foresees an innovative experience of co-housing. The initiative represents a fundamental step in the PNRR M5C2 Investment 1.2 project, Pathways to Independence for people with disabilities, aimed at promoting independent living models through the use of home automation technologies and personalized pathways.
“Another exciting project from District 50 – explains the director of D50 Marilena Cricchio – that today sees our young people sharing their socio-work integration. The phase of support for autonomy has started, in collaboration with the Anffas association, under the supervision of the contact person for the personalized project Maria De Vita, hosted in the casette rosa of the Municipality of Trapani, where participants will learn to manage daily life in full independence.”
For the mayor of Trapani, Giacomo Tranchida: building an inclusive community is the greatest work we can accomplish. It is the challenge that all nine municipalities of District 50 – with Trapani as the lead – are pursuing, involving businesses and families in a path of collective growth. We have networked a renovated building that has become a reference point for the autonomy of the twelve young people, after internships and training. Our goal is to create a community with a capital C!”
