For at least fifteen days, the Matrice neighborhood in Monterosso Almo has been enduring an increasingly unsustainable situation: power outages every day, from 6 PM until 6 AM the following morning, a cycle that repeats relentlessly and is putting a severe strain on families, businesses, and the elderly. As of yesterday, the situation had still not been resolved, and discontent is growing by the hour.

The neighborhood has been grappling with continuous and sudden blackouts for days, leaving homes, shops, and streets completely in the dark, generating frustration and a sense of abandonment among residents. The outages are no longer sporadic incidents but a constant presence that marks the days and especially the nights of the community.

Collected testimonies speak of evenings spent with candles, refrigerators defrosting, appliances at risk of malfunction, children unable to study, and elderly individuals experiencing every blackout with anxiety. Businesses, already strained by a fragile local economy, find themselves interrupting work, losing goods, and postponing essential services. A daily life that is grinding to a halt and, day by day, wearing down everyone's patience.

The municipal administration has announced that it has initiated a formal dialogue with the electricity service providers to understand the causes of the problem and urge for a definitive solution, but the community feels increasingly neglected and fears that the restoration times may still be long.

For many residents, the problem is not just technical: it is the feeling of being left on the margins, of not receiving the same attention that would be taken for granted elsewhere. The neighborhood is filled with a mix of resignation and anger. Some demand transparency, some want certain timelines, and some insist that the discomfort experienced be acknowledged. Because this is not just about electricity: it is about respect, dignity, and the right to a normal life.

Meanwhile, as the blackouts continue to occur every evening, the Matrice community awaits concrete answers and decisive interventions. And hopes that this long emergency does not become the norm.
