On Saturday, March 28, at 5:30 PM, at the Palazzo della Cultura di Modica, the fifteenth appointment of the Caffè Letterario Quasimodo is scheduled, dedicated to the Neapolitan writer Giovanni d’Angelo with the presentation of his novel “Sangue normanno”.

The poet of the association, Maria Galluzzo, will introduce the volume; the actor Piero Pisana will read some excerpts from the work. The evening will be coordinated by the poet Giuseppe Macauda, while the musical interludes will be entrusted to M° Lino Gatto on guitar.

“The book Sangue normanno is a work that blends historical novel, thriller, and fantasy/horror genre, unfolding in a narrative spread over two timelines nearly a thousand years apart, but united by a dark and ancestral secret. The author, from Aversa, uses the pretext of the supernatural to explore the history of the Campania region and the legacy left by the Normans,” stated Domenico Pisana, president of Quasimodo.

Giovanni d’Angelo, a graduate in Physics, has conducted research activities in astrophysics and bioengineering for over a decade. Today he teaches mathematics and science in a middle school in his city. Passionate about art, he has cultivated multiple interests, turning several into a profession: for years he played as a musician and curated socially themed exhibitions focused on the inability to recognize the beauty and ugliness of the life that surrounds us.
