Holly and Benji, the cult animation beloved by Italians for over forty years, will be the star at Etna Comics, which at its fourteenth edition will host the creator of “Captain Tsubasa”, the manga from which the series is adapted.
On Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, the famous Japanese mangaka Yōichi Takahashi will be at the Ciminiere di Catania as the guest of honor of the event, thanks to the collaboration with Edoardo Serino, to meet fans and enthusiasts of the work and football.
Two days with the “father” of Holly and Benji to reignite the memory of the endless challenges between Newppy and Muppet, later reprised by the New Team of Oliver Hutton, Benjamin Price, and Tom Becker against the team of the archrival Mark Lenders, accompanied by Ed Warner and Danny Mellow.
Not to mention the epic matches with the Mambo of Julian Ross, the Flynet of Philip Callaghan, and the Hot Dog of the Derrick twins.
A work born from the pencil of a Takahashi just over twenty years old and published in manga form starting from 1981 by the major Japanese publishing house Shueisha; two years later, the anime arrived on televisions around the world, even influencing the dreams of numerous international footballers.
Among them, Roberto Baggio, Alex Del Piero, David Trezeguet, Zinedine Zidane, and Filippo Inzaghi, frequently mentioned over time by the Japanese master.
