Cinema, the Taormina Film Festival scheduled from June 10 to 14: Tiziana Rocca still at the artistic direction.

The dates for the 72nd edition of the Taormina Film Festival have been officially announced, scheduled from June 10 to June 14. The event is organized by the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation, promoted by the Department of Tourism, Sports and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, with the support of the Ministry of Culture – General Directorate for Cinema and Audiovisual. The artistic direction is entrusted to Tiziana Rocca, confirmed in the role for the 2027/2028 biennium.

Registrations for the new edition are open, with a deadline set for May 26, 2026. The program will be divided into four areas: the International Feature Film Competition, the Out of Competition, Special Events at the Ancient Theatre, and a new section dedicated to short films shot in Sicily, aimed at enhancing the territory.

“The films scheduled will encompass all genres, giving voice to current themes – it is explained in a note – and of great cultural impact. There will be at least national premieres, arriving from countries and directors from all over the world, in the international spirit of the festival.”

Tiziana Rocca, Artistic Director of the festival, stated: «I am deeply honored to return to the artistic leadership of the Taormina Film Festival for its 72nd edition. Taormina has always represented a special place for international cinema: a bridge between cultures, stories, and talents from all over the world…».

Bernardo Campo, Extraordinary Commissioner of the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation, emphasized the strategic importance of the event, defining it a true “intangible asset” for Sicily, while Felice Panebianco highlighted the perfect balance between innovation and tradition.

The regional councilor Elvira Amata reiterated the central role of the festival in the touristic and cultural promotion of the Island, capable of combining the enhancement of the territory with the dynamism of the international film market.
