Ragusa, the "Ibla meeting art" returns: it is the fourth edition
The idea of Amedeo Fusco takes shape once again to give space to the creative community.
Toni Capuozzo and Amedeo Fusco
Ibla Meeting Art 4 returns to Ragusa Ibla with the energy of great occasions, bringing back to the San Vincenzo Ferreri auditorium that spirit of confrontation, dialogue, and wonder that in previous editions transformed the baroque neighborhood into a crossroads of artists, words, music, and shared memories. The idea of Amedeo Fusco, scheduled from Friday to Sunday, continues to grow and layer, confirming itself not only as a cultural event but as an authentic space of the soul. The creative community, in short, comes together.
The opening is set for Friday, March 20 at 11 AM, with the presentation of the review and the inauguration of the exhibition: not a simple introduction, but an invitation to enter a universe of different perspectives, stories, and sensitivities.
At 12:10 PM, there will be a visit to the Titì Appiano house-museum, which will offer participants an immersion into the artistic memory of the territory, reinforcing the connection between the present of the Meeting and the creative roots of Ragusa. After lunch at the Caffè del Borgo, the program resumes at 3:30 PM with Gino Carbonaro, who will recount a life in motion, between art, music, and words, in dialogue with Giovanni Ottaviano.
Following that, Maria Rita Schembari, president of the Free Consortium of Municipalities, will guide the audience to the origins of the Italian language, from Francesco d’Assisi to Jacopone da Todi, bringing to light the spiritual and poetic strength of the early texts in the vernacular.
At 5:15 PM, Ciccio Schembari will present dialect poetry with “U dutturi pruvilazzu” by Bonafede, an authentic fragment of Sicilian identity. Immediately after, Marcello Cannizzo will open a window on the behind the scenes of cultural events, illustrating how many visible and invisible actions make an event of this nature possible.
The afternoon will become more intense with the reading of “If This Is a Man” entrusted to Salvatore Massari, a moment of suspension and a call to the responsibility of memory. Then Arturo Barbante will lead the audience into the history of the Sicilian cart, a means of transport that has become an artwork, a symbol of an identity that continues to speak through colors and engravings.
The closing of the day, at 7:40 PM, will be entrusted to the voice of Carlo Muratori, in conversation with Amedeo Fusco about telling life through music. An epilogue that, rather than concluding, opens up an invitation: to let oneself be permeated by art and to recognize it as a key to understanding the world and oneself. Thus begins Ibla Meeting Art 4: not just a simple program, but a shared journey that returns to Ragusa Ibla its deepest vocation, that of a place where art is not only observed but lived.
