Discovering the Sicilian soul: the exhibition "Antichi Valori" arrives at the town hall.
From March 12 to 14, a journey through folklore and memory: a cultural challenge for the new generations.
The roots of an island are not just dust of history, but invisible threads that continue to weave the present. With this spirit, Agrigento is preparing to inaugurate the exhibition “Antichi Valori”, an event that will transform the evocative cloister of the town hall into a true temple of collective memory.
From March 12 to 14, 2026, visitors, tourists, and enthusiasts will be able to immerse themselves in an exhibition path that celebrates Sicilian identity. Among ancient arts, symbols, and popular traditions, the exhibition aims to serve as a bridge between generations, transforming folklore into a living tool of reflection and belonging.
An exceptional “Cicerone” for schools
The initiative pays particular attention to the youngest. For primary school students, the encounter with “ancient values” will begin well before crossing the threshold of the Cloister. A dedicated excursion is planned through the alleys and cultural sites of the historic center, a cultural walk that will have an exceptional guide: historian and journalist Elio Di Bella.
He will reveal to the children the secrets of the ancient city, guiding them step by step to the heart of the exhibition, making history a tangible and exciting experience.
The words of President Licata
The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Agrigento, aims to strengthen the city's image as a guardian of a unique heritage. A concept strongly reiterated by President Biagio Licata: “This initiative arises from a deep desire to transmit to new generations the sense of belonging and respect for their roots,” Licata explains. “We want young people to feel the pride of a cultural heritage that Agrigento continues to protect and enhance as a point of reference for the entire island.”
Appointment at the cloister
The exhibition represents an unmissable opportunity to rediscover that authentic beauty that often escapes the frenzy of modernity. Whether it is a citizen in search of their origins or a tourist fascinated by the Sicilian soul, “Antichi Valori” promises to offer everyone a moment of profound connection with history.
