Ragusa, when culture becomes a supportive community

The Teatro della Badia hosted an evening of intense emotional and civic participation, transforming a concert into a concrete gesture of support for the children displaced from the schools of Niscemi. The initiative, organized in collaboration with Agimus thanks to the coordination of Marisa Di Natale and curated by artistic director Maurizio Nicastro, united music, community, and social responsibility. Thanks to the generosity of the audience, 1,100 euros were raised, an amount that will be entirely donated to the comprehensive institute “Francesco Maria Luigi Salerno” of Niscemi to support the school activities of the young students affected by the emergency. The evening saw the participation of the professors from the comprehensive institute of Niscemi, Councilor Marianna Avila, Deputy Mayor Pietro Stimolo, Mayor of Ragusa Peppe Cassì, Councilor Giovanni Gurrieri, and President Rosanna Di Giovanni with the members of the Inner Wheel of Niscemi, confirming an institutional and associative network united by a common goal.

On stage, the quartet Lyceum – Gianluca Abbate (piano), Alessia Pallavicino (voice), Michela Bonavita (viola), and Adriano Denaro (bass) – delivered a performance capable of intertwining emotions, silences, and hope, becoming the thread that united artists, audience, and institutions in a single supportive embrace. The Teatro della Badia extends heartfelt thanks to Agimus, represented by President Giuseppe Basile and Marisa Di Natale, for their constant support, and to President Una Frost and the members of the Inner Wheel of Ragusa Centro for their sensitivity and closeness. Artistic director Maurizio Nicastro emphasizes how this initiative confirms the vocation of the Teatro della Badia to be a place where culture becomes community and music becomes an act of care, a light that continues to shine for those in greatest need.
