Excavators and concrete mixers, interrupted roads, alternating traffic lanes. Not to mention the usual potholes that make, if possible, various corners of the roads more picturesque. With a single result: Villaggio Mosè paralyzed by traffic.

And no, there are no, nor have there been, any particular events except for the usual routine traffic that this morning has become a “special case.”

The first snag is at the beginning of via dei Fiumi at the corner with via Poggio Muscello where the excavation works for the fiber installation are being completed. Excavation works, an operator reports, that seem to last until the end of this week, after which the cable installation for fiber will take place over the next few months.

And so far. This morning, viale Leonardo Sciascia was intermittently blocked, and not a few drivers thought that, to avoid traffic congestion along the Viale, it would be better to take via dei Fiumi reaching viale Sciascia via the side street adjacent to a car inspection center where there is also a laundromat. But they did not take into account the alternating lane traffic in the side street, also due in this case to ongoing works (for months) that are not yet completed.

Proceeding along via Lombardia, the machinery and operators from the company have effectively made transit difficult towards viale Cannatello where, in addition to the countless potholes located on both sides and in the center of the road, ongoing works are also added.

This morning, moreover, although fully operational, the traffic light system was almost invisible. None of the drivers respected the red light, allowing cars coming from viale Cannatello to merge onto viale Sciascia. Resulting in a kilometric line of cars along viale Cannatello and congested traffic along viale Sciascia.

And this without considering the various potholes on viale Sciascia such as, for example, the one that has been in the center of the road almost in front of the Palacongressi for months, which sometimes forces drivers to invade the opposite lane if, on theirs, they find parked cars, as in other streets.

For example, via degli Ulivi where, apart from the road surface that endangers public safety, there are fenced sections for works that, more than ongoing, appear eternal.

A not exactly sustainable situation for a neighborhood with a high level of road traffic.
